A case of a Hindu man being assaulted and kidnapped by five Muslim men has emerged from Telangana’s Nizamabad district. The incident took place on September 08 and came to the notice of police on September 11.
Subsequently, a case was registered under various sections and an investigation was launched. Four accused have been arrested so far.
A video of the incident shows the five men brutally assaulting the victim. The Hindu man was later kidnapped and taken by the five Muslim men to a nearby locality where he was confined for many hours.
Later, the Muslim woman’s brother reached the spot and explained to the five men that he had sent his sister along with the man to collect the documents. It was then that the victim was released by the accused.
As per the details available, the Hindu man was travelling with a Muslim woman – both employees of IIIT Basara, located in Nizamabad district - on a two-wheeler on September 8 to Nizamabad Government Hospital in Nizamabad town when they were intercepted and stopped by a group of five Muslim men who were travelling in a car.
The IIIT Basara employees were travelling to the Nizamabad hospital to collect some documents which were required to be submitted to the IIIT Basara for their salaries.
The matter came to the notice of police three days later on September 11 and a case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code including under 295A and 365 (kidnapping). Sections under the SC/ST Act were also added as the victim man belongs to the Dalit community.
Police are investigating the matter and four accused have been arrested so far. All four were sent to judicial custody on Monday.
Police are also looking for two more suspects as they believe a total of six men were involved in the assault and kidnapping.
