In a recent update on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the latter claimed to have attacked the Tel Haim military base in Tel Aviv, about 120 kilometres from the Lebanon border, according to Al Jazeera reports.
Hezbollah claimed to have attacked the Israeli Army's intelligence branch with "qualitative missiles." According to the organisation, it launched rockets targeting communities close to the Lebanon border, including the Kiryat Shmona settlement. However, the Israeli military has maintained silence on Hezbollah's claims. Hezbollah has launched over 30 attacks on the Israeli military recently, according to Al Jazeera.
Earlier, an Israeli airstrike targeted a civil defence centre near the city of Baalbek in Lebanon's Baalbek-Hermel governorate. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that the strike occurred while 20 people were inside the centre. "This is another example of the cynical exploitation of the terrorist organisation Hezbollah of Lebanese citizens, who are used as human shields in the city centres," said the IDF, mentioning, "This attack is another part of the ongoing effort to damage the infrastructure of the terrorist organisation Hezbollah in the Beirut area."
The Baalbek-Hermel governor shared on X that 12 bodies have been found at the site, but the search for more remains continues, according to Al Jazeera. In the past week, Israeli airstrikes killed around 200 Hezbollah fighters and destroyed 140 rocket launchers, the Israel Defense Forces reported on Thursday. The IDF said these launchers posed a direct threat to Israeli civilians and soldiers in southern Lebanon.
