Gujarat is at the forefront of an agricultural revolution, embracing innovative technologies like Nano Urea and Nano DAP to transform farming practices across the state. According to state officials, over 20 lakh farmers have adopted these advancements alongside modern techniques such as drip irrigation, mulching, and drone-assisted pesticide spraying.
The impact of these innovations is evident in the surge of Nano Urea sales, which rose from 8,75,000 bottles in 2021-22 to a remarkable 26,03,637 bottles in 2023-24. These developments are in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to double farmers’ incomes through scientific and sustainable farming practices. IFFCO’s introduction of Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP has further reinforced this goal, providing cost-effective and efficient solutions to farmers.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Gujarat government is driving the adoption of new-age farming strategies, including the production of Nano fertilisers. These fertilisers enhance nutrient efficiency, reduce dependency on traditional chemical fertilisers, and promote sustainable agricultural practices, ensuring higher productivity at reduced costs.
A landmark achievement in this journey was the establishment of the world’s first Nano Urea (liquid) plant in Kalol in 2022. This advanced facility, equipped with patented nanotechnology, produces 1.75 lakh litres of Nano Urea daily. It has become a cornerstone of Gujarat’s efforts to pioneer sustainable agricultural solutions.
By championing innovation and modern farming techniques, Gujarat is setting a benchmark for agricultural transformation. The state’s efforts highlight its commitment to self-reliance, sustainability, and enhancing farmers' livelihoods, paving the way for a brighter future in Indian agriculture.
