Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS) to work together in developing and supplying advanced weapons and electronic systems. The agreement was officially made on Wednesday.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Cdr. Shantanu Bose, Director (Shipbuilding) at GRSE, and Karunakar Reddy Baddam, Managing Director of AMS. The signing took place in the presence of Cmde PR Hari, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of GRSE, DIG Subrato Ghosh, Director (Personnel) at GRSE, and senior officials from both organisations.
Under this partnership, GRSE and AMS will work together on research and development (R&D), co-producing, and supplying key defence solutions. These solutions include underwater weapons, vehicles, mines, communication systems and air defence systems. The advanced systems will meet the growing needs of the Indian Defense Forces, paramilitary forces, police, and government agencies, as well as the civil sector and international markets. The partnership will combine the strengths of both companies to improve manufacturing facilities for components and sub-assemblies, as well as modernise and upgrade existing systems.
This initiative supports the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision and strengthens GRSE’s dedication to developing local technological expertise in the defence sector. GRSE and AMS hope to address the increasing demands of both domestic and international markets while strengthening India's defence manufacturing independence through this partnership.
