The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is preparing to introduce four online portals, marking a new era in digital communication and efficiency. These platforms, which include the National Video Gateway of Bharat, an upgraded website for newspaper and magazine registration, and a centralized platform for government advertisements, are designed to streamline processes and improve accessibility.
The NaViGate Bharat platform will function as a central repository for videos produced by various central government ministries and departments, aggregating approximately 2,500 videos covering different government initiatives. This initiative aims to offer citizens a consolidated source for accessing official government content.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is launching the "Press Sewa Portal" alongside the newly introduced Press and Registration of Periodicals Act, 2023. This portal aims to enhance communication between the Press Registrar General of India and periodical owners, publishers, and printing presses. It will streamline the application process for registration certificates, making it more efficient and transparent.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is preparing to introduce a new website for the Registrar of Newspapers of India. This website will integrate functions such as intimation by printers and submission of applications for title verification. Under the new act, the website will be rebranded as the website of the Press Registrar General.
The Central Bureau of Communication, tasked with government advertising, is introducing the "Transparent Empanelment, Media Planning, and E-billing System." Developed by Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL), this portal will streamline empanelment applications from various media outlets, introducing a centralized system for renewal rates and applications.
While the integration of the e-billing feature with the finance ministry's Public Financial Management System is anticipated in the future, stability concerns have led to the postponement of its launch.
Until March 31, the existing NIC system will operate alongside the new system. Starting April 1, all government campaign billing, including the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, will transition to the new system.
The broadcasting division of MIB has introduced a new feature on the Broadcast Seva Portal to improve communication with local cable operators. This feature enables LCOs to register and acquire the national registration number.
This digital initiative is expected to significantly modernize communication and administrative procedures within the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
