Gautam Adani meets Bhutanese Prime minister, signs MoU for 570 MW green hydroelectric plant

Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani has held discussions with Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and finalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the country's Druk Green Power Corporation. The MoU entails the development of a 570 MW hydroelectric plant in Chukha province.
He further commended Bhutan's infrastructure development efforts under the leadership of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and expressed keenness to engage in collaborative efforts on hydro and other projects in Bhutan.
In a post on X on Sunday, Gautam Adani described his meeting with Dasho Tshering Tobgay, the Honourable Prime Minister of Bhutan, as "absolutely fascinating." He announced the signing of an MoU with DGPC for a 570 MW green hydro plant in Chukha province. Adani praised @PMBhutan for advancing the vision of His Majesty The King and pursuing extensive infrastructure initiatives across the kingdom. He expressed anticipation for close collaboration on hydro and other infrastructure projects in Bhutan.
Adani additionally met with Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and found inspiration in the King's vision for Bhutan, particularly the eco-friendly master plan for Gelephu Mindfulness City.
Adani expressed his honour in meeting His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan. He was inspired by the King's vision for Bhutan, particularly impressed by the ambitious eco-friendly masterplan for Gelephu Mindfulness City, which includes plans for large computing centres and data facilities.
He added that he was excited to collaborate on these transformative initiatives, including green energy management aimed at achieving a carbon-negative nation.
