Thales, a global aerospace industry leader, has partnered with Garuda Aerospace through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the drone ecosystem in India. This collaboration seeks to drive innovation and advance technological solutions for safe and secure drone operations, supporting the expansion of drone-based applications in the country.
Thales brings extensive expertise in Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) solutions, which facilitate seamless management of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flight authorisations. The company also provides advanced radar and sensors for high-performance UAV detection and has substantial experience in system integration. On the other hand, Garuda Aerospace is a leading UAV manufacturer with deep knowledge of the Indian market, specialising in the production of advanced UAVs and their various service applications.
Founded in 2015, Garuda Aerospace is a prominent player in the Indian drone industry, addressing a wide range of sectoral needs. The company specialises in developing advanced drone solutions for the armed forces, partnering with leading global defense and aerospace firms. Garuda Aerospace boasts a substantial fleet of over 2,500 drones and employs 4,000 pilots across 400 districts.
Thales is globally recognised for its expertise in aerospace and UAV solutions, offering comprehensive end-to-end services from design and development to implementation and maintenance. The company has created integrated solutions for drone operations and advanced Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) systems. Thales collaborates closely with civil aviation authorities and air navigation service providers to deliver strategic UTM capabilities, including aircraft registration, authorisation, and geo-awareness.
