Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, initiated a campaign in Haryana on July 20, unveiling "Kejriwal's assurances" ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for October. Accompanied by party MPs Sanjay Singh and Sandeep Pathak, as well as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Sunita Kejriwal pledged several guarantees, including 24x7 free electricity similar to Punjab and Delhi, employment opportunities for every youth, universal education, free healthcare, and a monthly stipend of ₹1,000 for every woman over 18 years old.
On July 18th, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) declared its intention to contest all 90 Assembly seats in Haryana, emphasising their commitment to bring about change in the state. Sushil Gupta, AAP's state unit chief, affirmed their readiness to vigorously contest the elections and work towards forming a government. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, a key AAP leader, reiterated their stance during a media briefing in Chandigarh, underscoring the party's determination to participate in the Haryana elections with full force.
AAP National Secretary Sandeep Pathak highlighted that they engaged in extensive public outreach across approximately 6,500 villages, noting widespread support for change across the region. Pathak emphasised that just as they campaigned vigorously in the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha elections, they are prepared to bring the same level of energy to the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls. The campaign was initiated by Pathak himself from Karnal on June 25.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann echoed this sentiment, sharing that during AAP leaders' visits to Rohtak, Sonipat, and Jind in Haryana, local residents expressed a strong desire for a change in governance.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, AAP contested one seat in Haryana in alliance with the Congress under the INDIA bloc arrangement.
