According to sources speaking to India Today, forensic experts confirmed the raising of pro-Pakistan slogans in the Karnataka Assembly during the celebration of the Rajya Sabha win of a Congress candidate.
The report submitted to the state government affirmed the presence of pro-Pakistan slogans in both the video and audio recordings, stating that the footage was not manipulated. The detained suspect, identified as Mohmad Shafiq Naashipudi, the Superintendent of Police for Haveri, was announced by Anshukumar.
The Bengaluru police questioned an individual in connection with the case related to pro-Pakistan slogans raised in the Karnataka Assembly. Subsequently, he was released after the questioning session.
Haveri Superintendent of Police Anshukumar stated that a case was registered on February 27 at the Vidhana Soudha police station regarding the incident. In relation to this case, a suspect named Mohmad Shafiq Naashipudi was detained by the Bengaluru police.
A controversy unfolded after an individual, identified as a trader from Byadagi, allegedly shouted pro-Pakistan slogans at the Vidhana Soudha while celebrating the victory of Congress leader Syed Naseer Hussain in the Rajya Sabha election.
During the state cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed dissatisfaction with the Vidhana Soudha security Deputy Commissioner of Police, questioning the rationale behind allowing numerous individuals to enter the Vidhana Soudha premises.
Meanwhile, the opposition BJP targeted the Congress government over the issue, with BJP MLAs led by the Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka organizing a 'Raj Bhavan Chalo' march. They demanded the dismissal of the Congress government, citing the poor law and order situation in the state.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ordered an inquiry into the case and stated that if the investigation confirmed the shouting of the 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogan, stringent action would be taken.
