Five terrorists killed, two soldiers injured during clash in J&K’s Kulgam

The security forces in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir have killed five terrorists. Two soldiers have sustained severe injuries during the clash.
"Five terrorists neutralised by the security forces in the ongoing operation in Kader, Kulgam. During the firefight, two soldiers have suffered injuries and have been evacuated for medical care," said the Indian Army's Chinar Corps said in a post on X. An altercation occurred in the Kulgam district's Kadder region earlier today.
According to the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, the terrorists fired a "heavy volume" of rounds in response to the security forces' challenge. "OP KADER, Kulgam. Based on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation was launched by the Indian Army and J-K police at Kader, Kulgam. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged, terrorists opened indiscriminate and heavy volumes of fire. Our troops effectively retaliated. Operation is in progress," it said in a post on X.
An ongoing operation by security personnel in the Srinagar district earlier on December 3 resulted in the death of a terrorist known as Junaid Ahmed Bhat. According to police, Bhat was responsible for multiple terror strikes in Jammu and Kashmir, including the killing of civilians at Gagangir and Ganderbal. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to lead a high-level security meeting in Delhi on December 19, according to official sources.
The meeting will mainly focus on important security matters, with special attention to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, will also be present at the meeting, which aims to review plans to maintain peace and stability in the region.
