In a recent clash, separate attacks on Pakistani security forces have taken place in the Kalat and Nushki areas of Balochistan, for which armed groups Balochistan (pro-independence), the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have claimed responsibility. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said in a media statement that the fighters of the group used an improvised explosive device (IED) on Friday to target a military truck in the Nurmak, Takht area of Kalat. He said, “Four personnel were killed on the spot, and at least ten others were injured, some critically.”
According to Jeeyand Baloch, the attack was a component of an ambush on a military vehicle convoy that was carrying out operations in the area. The explosion completely destroyed the military vehicle. “After suffering losses in the attack, the enemy indiscriminately fired multiple mortar shells in various directions, showing disregard for civilian lives and property, putting both at risk,” said statement issued by Baloch.
The BLA which has been carrying out an armed struggle for Balochistan's independence reaffirmed its determination to continuing resistance against what it refers to as "occupying forces." The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) took credit for an attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) post in the Nushki neighbourhood of Hizhda Khol on Thursday in a separate statement.
The BLF claims that after its fighters killed one FC soldier with a sniper, they launched rockets and other heavy weapons at the post, inflicting more casualties and damage. “In fear, the enemy fired mortar shells at civilian areas following the fighters’ assault and attempted to encircle them. However, the fighters, skilled in superior war tactics, safely reached their hideouts,” BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch asserted.
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) reiterated its commitment to carry out its military campaign for the independence of Balochistan and promised to continue its operations against the forces of Pakistan.
