Three killed in an encounter in Jammu & Kashmir's Kulgam

Security forces conducted an anti-terror operation in the Redwani Payeen area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam, resulting in the killing of two terrorists, officials reported.
The bodies of the terrorists have been retrieved, according to the Kashmir Zone Police. However, their identities are yet to be determined by the authorities.
In a post on X, the Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the recovery of the bodies of the two terrorists killed in the operation. They stated that efforts are underway to ascertain the identity and affiliation of the deceased. The operation is ongoing, with further details expected to follow.
Earlier today, there was a fierce exchange of gunfire between terrorists and security forces in the Redwani Payeen area of south Kashmir's Kulgam.
There has been no official confirmation regarding whether the terrorists involved in the exchange of gunfire with the security forces were responsible for the attack in Poonch.
Suspected terrorists from across the border targeted a convoy in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on May 4, resulting in the death of an Indian Air Force officer and injuries to four others. The attack occurred in an area situated between Surankote's Sanai Top and Mendhar's Gursai area in the border district.
Earlier, an official confirmed that terrorists had attacked an Indian Air Force vehicle convoy in the Poonch district. Following the attack, the injured personnel were airlifted to Udhampur for treatment on IAF helicopters, where one of them later succumbed to their injuries.
Meanwhile, security forces increased search operations from the Surankote to the Jarran Wali Gali areas in response to the May 4 attack in Poonch. Heavy security deployment was observed throughout the Union Territory following the assault on the Air Force convoy.
