Just hours after the iPhone maker announced its partnership with OpenAI on Monday, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk criticised Apple, describing it as an "unacceptable security violation". Musk stated that this development would compel him to prohibit all Apple devices from use within his companies, citing concerns over the safeguarding of user information. He voiced his opinions through a series of posts on the social media platform X.
Elon Musk labelled the integration between the two companies as "an unacceptable security violation," stating, "I don't want it." In response to a post by Apple CEO Tim Cook on X, Musk threatened to ban all Apple devices from his companies' premises unless the alleged "creepy spyware" is halted.
Tech giant Apple introduced 'Apple Intelligence', a personal intelligence system integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequola, on Monday (local time). Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the new feature on X, highlighting its personal, powerful, and private capabilities integrated into everyday apps.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, responded critically to Apple's integration of OpenAI's OpenAl at the OS level. Musk stated that if Apple proceeds with this integration, he will ban Apple devices from his companies, calling it "an unacceptable security violation." He expressed concerns over privacy and security implications, questioning Apple's ability to safeguard user data once integrated with OpenAl.
Musk further criticised Apple's decision, arguing that Apple should develop its own AI technology rather than relying on OpenAl, which he described as a potential threat to user privacy. He voiced his concerns on X, alleging that Apple risks compromising user data by partnering with OpenAl without sufficient safeguards.
The introduction of Apple Intelligence marks a significant advancement in AI capabilities across Apple's product ecosystem, aiming to enhance user experience through personalised features and seamless integration with existing applications.
