In another setback for the Aam Aadmi Party, sources report that the ED has conducted raids on the premises of Delhi AAP MLA Gulab Singh Yadav. The ongoing raids are occurring at Yadav's residence, who represents the Matiala seat in Delhi.
Just two days after the ED arrested Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister and national convener of AAP, in connection with the excise policy case, another development unfolds. Kejriwal, apprehended night, faces charges related to the alleged excise policy scam. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court remanded him to ED custody until March 28 in the money laundering case.
ED, which currently holds custody of Kejriwal until March 28, has accused AAP of being the primary beneficiary of the proceeds of crime generated in the alleged excise policy scam. According to the remand note issued by the agency, it states, "The Aam Aadmi Party is the major beneficiary of the proceeds of crime generated in the Delhi Liquor Scam."
Additionally, the ED has alleged that approximately Rs 45 crore of the proceeds of crime were utilised in the election campaign of AAP during the Goa Assembly elections in 2022. The agency also claimed that Kejriwal played a direct role in formulating the Excise policy, stating, "Arvind Kejriwal has also been intrinsically involved in the entire conspiracy of the Delhi liquor Scam."
The probe agency asserted in its remand note that Kejriwal actively colluded and had knowledge of his actions, which involved formulating the excise policy and colluding with members of the South Group to receive kickbacks. Kejriwal's arrest by the central agency occurred after he ignored multiple summons issued by the investigation agency, totaling nine, which he deemed "illegal."

The case centres on alleged irregularities and money laundering linked to the formulation and execution of the Delhi Excise Policy 2022, which was later revoked. The ED's actions indicate an ongoing effort to tackle alleged corruption and malpractice within the political arena, highlighting the agency's dedication to maintaining accountability and transparency in governance.
