An official statement from ED announced the attachment of 12 immovable properties valued at Rs 30.86 crore. These properties, allegedly belonging to the promoters, directors, and guarantors of Gangotri Enterprises, including former MLA Vinay Shankar Tiwari and two others, have been attached.
According to ED the attached immovable properties include commercial spaces, residential houses, and agricultural lands, which are situated across various cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Noida, and Gorakhpur.
"The attached properties are registered under the names of Gangotri Enterprises, Royal Empire Marketing Pvt Ltd, Kandarp Construction Pvt Ltd, and Reeta Tiwari, who are the main accused in the case," stated the ED.
ED stated that it commenced an investigation following the filing of FIR by the Central Bureau of Investigation, AC-V, New Delhi, against Gangotri Enterprises Ltd. and its promoters, directors, and guarantors.
As per the statement issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), its investigation uncovered that Gangotri Enterprises Ltd, in collaboration with its promoters, directors, and guarantors, fraudulently obtained credit facilities amounting to Rs 1129.44 crore.
In a previous development related to this case, the ED stated that it had conducted searches at 10 premises on February 23, 2024. During these searches, incriminating documents associated with various properties purchased using siphoned-off funds were discovered and seized.
ED stated that, “a provisional attachment order dated 17th November 2023 was issued, attaching multiple immovable properties worth Rs. 72.08 Crore in this case." ED added, "The total consolidated value of attached properties in this case now stands at Rs. 102.94 Crore."
As the probe into Gangotri Enterprises Ltd continues, the attachment of immovable properties worth millions highlights the agency's efforts to clamp down on economic offences and ensure accountability in financial transactions.
