EAM Jaishankar held key discussion on strengthening India-Singapore ties with Deputy PM

On Friday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong. They discussed ways to strengthen the modern partnership between the two countries, focusing on areas such as industrial parks, innovation, and semiconductors.
S Jaishankar embarked on the tour as a part of his two-nation visit. The foreign minister also visited Australia. S Jaishankar stated that he held a discussion with DPM Gan Kim Yong about partnerships in industrial parks, green energy, skilling, innovation as well as semiconductors during his visit to Singapore.
"Started my visit to Singapore by meeting DPM & Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong. Discussed taking forward contemporary partnership, with a focus on industrial parks, green energy, skilling, innovation and semiconductors," said Jaishankar on social media platform X.
S Jaishankar will speak at the 8th Roundtable of the ASEAN-India Network of Think Tanks during his one-day visit. India and ASEAN share a strong and diverse relationship, guided by India's Act East Policy. The External Affairs Minister will meet Singapore’s leaders to discuss ways to strengthen the close partnership between the two countries.
India and Singapore have a strong bilateral relationship, with Singapore playing a key role in reconnecting India to Southeast Asia since the launch of the Look East Policy in the early 1990s. EAM Jaishankar recently visited Australia and Singapore to strengthen India’s ties with these countries. From November 3 to November 7, he met with various Australian groups to reinforce the partnership between India and Australia. His visit aims to further enhance the friendly relations India shares with both Australia and Singapore.
