In a tragic incident in North East Delhi's Kabir Nagar last night, one person was killed, and two others were injured when three men on a motorcycle opened fire on three friends riding home on a scooter. Nadeem and his two companions were on their way to pick up food when the attackers ambushed them. Seven shots were fired, fatally wounding Nadeem and critically injuring one of his friends. After the assault, the attackers fled, taking Nadeem’s scooter and mobile phone but leaving behind their own motorcycle.
Locals quickly rushed to help and transported the injured to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where Nadeem succumbed to his injuries. His friend remains in critical condition and is receiving medical care. Police have launched an investigation for murder and attempted murder, and Nadeem's body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
The police have arrested three minors in connection with the recent shooting incident in North East Delhi. According to sources, one of the arrested juveniles had reportedly borrowed money from Nadeem and was under pressure to repay it. Investigations are ongoing, with police reviewing CCTV footage. Authorities have linked these minors to a separate firing incident earlier that night in Jyoti Nagar, where the group allegedly fired six rounds outside the residence of a man named Rahul. The three juveniles were apprehended in possession of three country-made pistols and are currently in custody for interrogation.
In a separate crackdown, Delhi Police’s Crime Branch arrested two primary members of an arms supply syndicate, seizing 13 pistols in the process. The main supplier, Shakeel, has a history of over 17 criminal charges, including involvement in the Hanuman Jayanti riots in Jahangirpuri. In the past week alone, more than 50 pistols have been confiscated from various suppliers as part of this intensified operation.
