Delhi Secretariat sealed amid political transition and security concerns

A notice has been issued by the General Administration Department of the Delhi government, which noted, "To address security concerns and the safety of records, it is requested that no files/documents, Computer Hardware, etc. may be taken outside Delhi Secretariat complex without permission from GAD."
"It is therefore directed that necessary directions may be issued to the concerned Branch In-charges under the Departments/Offices situated in Delhi Secretariat to ensure the safety of records, files, documents, electronic files, etc., under their section/branches," as per the notice further said.
The Delhi Assembly elections 2025’s vote counting is in process; the trends from the Election Commission of India predict a comeback of BJP in the capital.
The notice stated that the order applies to the Secretariat offices and the Camp Offices of the Council of Ministers. It also instructed the officials in charge of these offices to ensure compliance. Joint Secretary (GAD) Pradeep Tayal signed the order.
According to official Election Commission data, key AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, lost their respective seats in the 2025 assembly elections. However, Chief Minister Atishi confirmed a victory in the Kalkaji constituency.
By 2 PM, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ahead in 40 constituencies and had already secured victory in eight seats. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Arvind Kejriwal, was leading in 14 seats and had also won eight.
Exit polls had anticipated a BJP comeback in Delhi after 27 years. Among them, Peoples Pulse projected the highest range, estimating that BJP would win between 51 and 60 seats, while Axis My India forecasted a tally of 45 to 55 seats for the party.
The election for the 70-member assembly in the national capital was held on Wednesday, February 5, with the Election Commission of India reporting a voter turnout of approximately 60.54 per cent.
