Congress manifesto for Karnataka assembly election promises free electricity and monthly allowances

On Tuesday, Congress released the manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections that are going to be held in Karnataka which pledges free electricity and the monthly allowances. Assembly polls will take place on 10th May.
Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge released a manifesto that is ‘Sarva Janangada Shanthiya Thota’ which means the peaceful garden of all the communities for the elections in Bengaluru.
During the event, CLP Leader Siddaramaiah and the state unit chief D K Shivakumar were present during the launch of the manifesto for the state polls. Congress manifesto promised to give 5 guarantees that are Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Yuva Nidhi and Shakti.
Speaking at the event, Kharge said the promises will be implemented in the first cabinet meeting on the first day of government formation.
The five guarantees of the Congress manifesto are Rs 2000 per month to every woman head of the family, free bus services to all women, Rs 3000 for all graduates and Rs 1500 monthly allowance for all diploma holders who are currently unemployed, 10 kilos of rice and 200 units of free power to all the households.
The Shakti scheme which comes under the five guarantee scheme will provide free travel to all the women throughout the state in the regular BMTC buses and the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme under which every woman who is the head of the family will receive around Rs 2,000. Congress also promised in the manifesto to repeal all the unjust laws and anti-people laws that are passed by the BJP government in Karnataka.
Congress manifesto said that it will take “decisive action” as per law that includes banning organizations such as Bajrang Dal, the Popular Front of India and others. The Congress party is committed to taking firm and decisive action against individuals and organisations spreading hatred against communities on the grounds of caste and religion.
