The Chhattisgarh government has partnered with the National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote the state's growth and create job opportunities.
Emphasising the potential in skill development, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai discussed these opportunities with Nasscom Vice-President Srikant Srinivasan and other representatives during the Investors Connect meet in Bengaluru. Sai mentioned that the state is placing a stronger focus on skill development to align its workforce with industry needs. The chief minister is also advocating for skill-based education and training as the state progresses toward becoming an attractive destination for investors. He further stated that Raipur, the state capital, is home to reputed educational institutions like IIT, NIT, AIIMS, and IIIT, which are preparing young individuals for the job market.
To improve employability, the government is also planning to sign agreements with colleges for skill development programs. Chhattisgarh's new industrial policy has attracted investment proposals worth approximately ₹4.4 trillion. A major focus of this policy is developing Naya Raipur into an IT hub, where several technology companies have already started operations. By learning from successful IT cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad, the state is working to build a strong ecosystem for IT and startups. To encourage investment, the government has organised investor meets in Delhi, Mumbai, and Raipur. As a result, investment proposals worth around ₹1 trillion have come from these cities, according to the state government’s recent announcement.
A state government spokesperson stated that several tech companies from Bengaluru are interested in expanding their businesses in Chhattisgarh. Additionally, companies from various sectors, including engineering, textiles, electronics, IT/ITES, food processing, and green fuel, have submitted investment proposals totaling approximately ₹3,700 crore. Industrialists in Chhattisgarh are also showing interest in green fuel. A spokesperson mentioned that Deepak Agarwal from GPSR Arya met the Chief Minister and shared that his company is working on producing Compressed Bio-gas (CBG) from stubble in the state. He discussed plans to establish CBG plants in different districts, which will help farmers earn extra income and reduce pollution. Recently, the company set up a CBG plant in the Bemetara district in partnership with Indian Oil.
