In a significant development, the Chhattisgarh government has set up a new security camp in Zidpalli village, located in Bijapur district's People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) core zone. Named "Zidpalli 2," the camp was established on Saturday as part of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai's flagship scheme, Niyad Nella Nar, which focuses on enhancing security, infrastructure, and public services in the state’s Maoist-affected areas.
Under the Niyad Nella Nar initiative, the government is ensuring basic facilities such as medical care, ration outlets, schools, and electricity in villages within insurgency-hit districts. The scheme aims to improve the lives of people in remote areas while addressing the challenges posed by Maoist activities.
Bijapur Police officials stated that the new camp will facilitate effective action against Maoist elements, disrupt their networks, and instill a sense of security among the local population. It will also help extend the reach of government welfare schemes and provide essential services to residents in the area.
As part of the initiative, a medical camp was organised by the CRPF Medical Unit in Zidpalli village. Locals received free health check-ups and medicines, marking a step toward improving healthcare accessibility in the region.
Highlighting the significance of this move, officials described it as a crucial measure to strengthen security, enhance living standards, and counter Maoist influence in the region.
On December 4, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated the state's resolve to combat Naxalism, emphasising the strides made in restoring peace in areas like Bastar. "The whole country knows that since we came to power, our security forces are fighting strongly against Naxalism... We are succeeding in establishing peace in Bastar, review meetings are held from time to time regarding this," Sai said.
The Chief Minister is set to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to Chhattisgarh on December 13 and 14. During the meeting, Sai will provide a detailed briefing on the state's anti-Naxal operations and outline the developmental initiatives being undertaken in Maoist-affected regions.
This new camp, along with the state government’s ongoing efforts, underscores Chhattisgarh’s commitment to combating Maoist insurgency and improving the lives of its people.
