Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled three major online portals on August 21, marking a significant step toward enhancing e-governance and improving transparency within government operations. The new platforms introduced are the e-office system, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) online portal, and the ‘Swagatam’ portal.
The e-office system is set to be rolled out initially in the General Administration Department, with plans for a gradual expansion to other departments. This initiative aims to digitise office documents, streamline file processing, and ensure the security of documents against tampering or loss. During the launch, Chief Minister Sai digitally approved a file, instructing the chief secretary to oversee the implementation of the e-office system across all departments.
The Swagatam portal is designed to simplify the process for visitors seeking appointments with officials at the Mahanadi Bhawan, thereby improving security and record-keeping. This portal will enhance the efficiency of scheduling appointments and managing visitor records, contributing to a more organised and transparent process.
Additionally, the CMO portal will provide citizens with convenient access to information about government schemes, programs, and public decisions. It will also offer details on Chhattisgarh’s art, culture, history, and district-specific information, making it easier for residents to engage with and understand government initiatives.
Chief Minister Sai highlighted that the launch of these portals represents a significant move towards good governance and digital integration. He emphasised that the new systems are expected to reduce delays, minimise errors, and improve file tracking efficiency. The introduction of these digital tools is anticipated to enhance overall administrative performance and accountability.
The launch event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dayaldas Baghel, and other key officials, who supported the initiative to modernise and streamline government operations in Chhattisgarh.
