On July 10th, the Border Security Force (BSF) announced a notable achievement, surpassing last year's record in the first half of this year with the recovery of 126 drones and 150 kg of heroin. This accomplishment underscores their enhanced performance along the arduous and diverse 553-km India-Pakistan border in Punjab.
In 2023, BSF personnel in Punjab captured 107 drones originating from Pakistan. However, within just six months this year, they have already surpassed this figure by recovering 126 drones. This remarkable increase highlights the BSF's improved capability in countering aerial threats and enforcing border security effectively.
Officials emphasised that this achievement underscores the Border Security Force (BSF)'s enhanced capability and flexibility in identifying and neutralising emerging threats, which were considered highly challenging in the recent past.
In addition to recovering 126 drones, the BSF has also seized 150 kg of heroin and 18 weapons. These accomplishments demonstrate the BSF's multifaceted approach to maintaining security, addressing both traditional and evolving challenges effectively.
Additionally, the paramilitary force successfully neutralised one Pakistani national and apprehended 21 others who were attempting to cross the International Border.
This outstanding performance further highlights the dedication and operational efficiency of the BSF Punjab in safeguarding national security. It underscores their vigilance and proactive measures in maintaining border integrity and preventing unauthorised crossings.
Despite facing countless challenges like harsh weather and increased smuggling activities, the BSF personnel demonstrate unwavering dedication as they tirelessly guard the borders day and night. Their commitment remains steadfast in ensuring border security amidst difficult conditions.
