Blast near PVR in Delhi's Prashant Vihar leaves 1 injured

A small explosion occurred near PVR Prashant Vihar in Delhi's Rohini on Thursday, injuring one person, according to the police. The blast occurred outside a sweet shop near a park, in the same area where a strong explosion damaged a wall at a CRPF school on October 20. The Delhi Police said they received a call about the explosion at 11:47 am, reporting the incident outside Bansi Wala sweet shop in Prashant Vihar.
Chetan Kushwaha, a 28-year-old three-wheeler driver, was slightly injured when an explosion occurred nearby. He was treated at a hospital and later discharged. The area was quickly sealed off by police, a bomb detection team, a dog squad, and the Delhi Fire Services. White powder was found at the scene, but authorities are still investigating to learn more about the explosion. A senior police officer mentioned that the blast happened while movies were being shown at the multiplex, causing panic among visitors and residents as smoke spread across the area.
After the event, a video of a smoke cloud surrounding the multiplex surfaced on social media. A few meters separate the blast site from the PVR. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi blamed the central government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, for not keeping the capital city law and orderly just hours after the explosion. Police sources said the Thursday morning explosion is comparable to the one that happened last month outside the boundary wall of the CRPF school in Prashant Vihar. "A similar kind of thick smoke was seen in the air in the October 20 explosion near the CRPF school. The white power was again recovered from the spot," a police officer said.
The Delhi Police, in a statement, said, "It was found that a very mild intensity explosion occurred near the wall of a small park. About the explosion on October 20, Atishi stated, "This is a breakdown of law and order in the national capital." Additionally, she blamed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for failing to ensure Delhiites' safety.
