On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released the second part of its manifesto for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, Sankalp Patra Part - 2, at its state office. BJP National President JP Nadda unveiled the initial segment of the manifesto, while BJP MP Anurag Thakur introduced the second part. In the first section, the party pledged to maintain the ongoing welfare programs in the national capital.
"When we imagine a developed India, a developed Delhi has an important role. National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda ji had earlier presented his views before you regarding the Developed Delhi Resolution 2025. Today, I have come before you all with its second part," he stated.
“Free education from KG to PG will be provided to the needy students of Delhi in the government educational institutions of Delhi. Once our government is formed, we will provide financial assistance of Rs 15,000 to the youth of Delhi for preparing for competitive exams and will also reimburse two-time travel and application fees,” BJP leader Anurag Thakur said while releasing the party's second manifesto.
In its manifesto, the BJP also vowed to establish a welfare board for domestic workers, offering them life insurance coverage of Rs 10 lakh, accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh, scholarships for their children, and six months of paid maternity leave. The party further pledged to set up a welfare board for auto and taxi drivers, ensuring life insurance of Rs 10 lakh, accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh, vehicle insurance, and scholarships for their children. The Delhi BJP manifesto also included a promise to provide Scheduled Caste students with a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 under the "Dr BR Ambedkar Stipend Scheme."
Under the BJP's plan, "needy students will receive free education from KG to PG in government educational institutions." Additionally, "needy aspirants willing to appear for competitive exams will also be provided Rs 15,000 lump sum financial assistance." The party stated, "a SIT will be formed adopting 'zero tolerance' policy against misgovernance and corruption done by AAP government in Delhi." Furthermore, the BJP aims to double the number of beneficiaries under the PM Swanidhi Yojana.
Minister Anurag Thakur said at the manifesto release ceremony, “Once our government is formed, we will solve problems related to health, traffic, electricity, water and transport, etc. We will try to give a better today and a better tomorrow to the people of Delhi.”
Shortly after the BJP launched its manifesto, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal responded, describing it as "dangerous."
“They have clearly written in their manifesto that they will shut down mohalla clinics. They do not want the people of Delhi to get free treatment. It will stop free education for all in government schools in Delhi if the party is voted to power,” Arvind Kejriwal conveyed at a press conference.
“In its two manifestos released, BJP has accepted and directly declared that they will shut down the Mohalla Clinics in Delhi and will stop free education being provided in the government schools of Delhi,” said AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal in a post on X after the BJP’s manifesto was released.
Delhi will hold its elections in a single phase on February 5, with a heated triangular battle between the AAP, BJP and Congress raising the political stakes in the national capital. The election results will be revealed on February 8.
