A new Opinion Poll conducted by Jan Ki baat for the Gujarat elections has thrown up some interesting scenarios. They project the BJP to get 110-125 seats, Congress to get 53-68 seats and the others to get around 4 seats including independents. This would mean that the parties will get close to their 2012 numbers if these numbers hold.
This also shows that contrary to many other polling agencies, this poll seems to suggest that the BJP hasn’t lost significant ground in Gujarat. The region wise breakup of the seats in shown below. According to the Poll the Congress is gaining in North Gujarat, but the BJP is in the lead everywhere else.
