Targeting the Congress party, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Monday referred to a 2011 document released by the US intelligence agency CIA and claimed that more than 150 Congress MPs were “funded” by the Soviet Union under the leadership of the late HKL Bhagat.
“Congress, Corruption, and Slavery. This is an unclassified secret document released by the CIA in 2011. As per it, Soviet Russia supported over 150 Congress MPs under the leadership of the late Congress leader HKL Bhagat as agents for Russia?” Dubey mentioned in a post on the social media site X.
He also said that some journalists worked as “their agents” and claimed that the file he shared refers to 16,000 news stories that Russia had published.
During the time Congress was in power, Dubey said that nearly 1,100 members of the Russian intelligence agency KGB were present in India and controlled bureaucrats, business groups, communist parties and opinion makers by keeping them in their “pockets”.
“A cluster of media people were their agents, and there is a mention of as many as 16,000 news pieces that Russia had published? 1100 personnel of Russian intelligence agencies were in India around then, having bureaucrats, business organisations, communist parties and opinion makers in their pockets, dictating India's policy along with information,” the BJP MP stated.
He also alleged that Congress candidate Subhadra Joshi received five lakh rupees from the German government for an election and, after losing, was appointed president of the Indo-German Forum.
“Congress candidate Subhadra Joshi accepted 5 lakh rupees from the German government in the name of elections at that time, and after losing, became the president of the Indo-German Forum. Is this a nation or a slave-puppet of agents and middlemen? Congress has to answer whether there should be an investigation on this today or not?”
Last week, Dubey again attacked the Congress and blamed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for “killing” the Constitution written by Baba Saheb Ambedkar by bringing in the 42nd Amendment.
The 42nd Amendment was passed during the Emergency when Indira Gandhi was Prime Minister and has remained controversial.
“The term secular has already been used in the first paragraph of the Constitution; Congress' killing of the Constitution drafted for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes is in their blood”, Dubey had stated in a X post.
