The Bharatiya Janata Party is launching a massive month-long public outreach campaign on September 17 to mark Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. The drive, titled "Seva," will continue until October 17 across all levels of the party and government. Citizens can choose from 25 planned community service activities under the "Seva Mera Yogdan" initiative, including blood donation drives and tree planting. The campaign involves party workers, government departments, schools, Anganwadi centres, influencers, and non-governmental organisations. State education departments have received circulars to focus their official communications around "Viksit Bharat Sankalp" and "25 years of service work" without explicitly mentioning the Prime Minister's birthday.
The campaign opens on the evening of September 17 with the "Ashirwad Ka Diya" initiative. Party workers will visit welfare scheme beneficiaries to light lamps as a mark of gratitude, using official state lists to cover households door-to-door. Participants will also share images of lit lamps online using the hashtag #AshirwadKaDiya. Between September 17 and October 17, schools will host drawing and speech competitions under the "25 Crore Children’s Dreams of India" program. State-level exhibition winners will receive certificates signed by their respective Chief Ministers.
Cultural programs will also play a key role throughout the month. Local troupes will stage "Namo Seva Gatha" street plays in villages, schools, and colleges to highlight 25 years of welfare initiatives. Anganwadi centres will host "Aangan Ka Utsav" between September 25 and October 7 to honour workers and inform mothers about nutrition programs. Concurrently, party workers aim to record 2.5 million citizen success stories under the "Kahani Badlav Ki" initiative. Officials will shortlist 25,000 entries and select 250 stories for a national video compilation.
The campaign includes a major digital push targeting social media creators. Under the "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra," 300 to 500 influencers will visit transformative development sites like Bastar, Gujarat’s GIFT City, and iCreate. Two symbolic road journeys will also take place. The "Seva Jyoti Yatra" will carry a ceremonial flame through villages via foot and motorcycle rallies. Additionally, the "Jal, Jan aur Seva Sankalp Yatra" will transport holy water between Vadnagar and Varanasi using a relay of 500 pilgrims on 250 motorcycles across multiple routes.
The initiative culminates on October 17 with the "Jansevak Mahakumbh," bringing together 125,000 village heads and representatives across Delhi, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Surajkund, and Varanasi. Attendees will participate in a mass rendition of Vande Mataram for a Guinness World Record attempt before an address by the Prime Minister.
