The Delhi BJP has given the AAP government a 48-hour deadline to present 14 Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the state assembly. They said these reports would expose the ruling party's wrongdoing.
Vijender Gupta, the Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, accused the Delhi government of hiding the 14 CAG reports. He claimed that the AAP government has failed to present these reports in the assembly, despite repeated demands from the opposition and instructions from the Lieutenant Governor, in an effort to cover up its corruption and wrongdoings. Gupta issued an ultimatum, demanding that the government call a special Delhi Assembly session within 48 hours in order to present all 14 CAG reports. He also said that the BJP would go to the High Court for the necessary orders to force the government to produce the reports if it fails to do so. "We will ensure that the government tables these reports at all costs," he stated.
At a news conference held at the Delhi BJP office, Gupta said that the government's wrongdoings had been revealed by the concealing and suppression of these CAG reports. "This theft has been caught red-handed, and the government now stands completely exposed," he said, alleging that hiding the reports is a clear attempt to cover up large-scale corruption. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva mentioned that both the Delhi Government’s and Lieutenant Governor’s lawyers confirmed that in the next two to three days, the Assembly Speaker will be notified to present all 14 CAG reports in the Assembly.
“We hope that after these 14 CAG reports come to light, there will be no choice but for Atishi Marlena’s government to recommend investigations against the previous Arvind Kejriwal government,” he said, demanding that the Assembly Speaker convene a special session on Saturday solely to direct the Delhi Government to table all 14 CAG reports in the Assembly. “This special session must not have any other agenda,” he added.
