The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a revamped national organisational structure under party president Nitin Nabin. The new team includes several changes across key party wings. The reshuffle brings back some familiar leaders and assigns new faces to important organisational posts.
The appointments come as the BJP prepares for a series of elections. The party is also looking to strengthen its organisation across states and among different social groups. The new structure includes 13 national vice-presidents, eight national general secretaries and 16 national secretaries. The party has also announced changes in several Morchas, which work as its organisational arms for women, youth, OBCs, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, minorities and farmers.
One of the biggest changes is the removal of Amit Malviya as the BJP's IT Cell chief. Deepak Mhaske will now lead the party's IT and social-media machinery. The move puts a new face in charge of a key part of the BJP's digital outreach and communication network.
The party has also replaced Tejasvi Surya as president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). Hemang Joshi will take charge of the youth wing in his place. The change comes as the BJP reorganises its youth-focused leadership ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
The reshuffle also marks the return of former Union minister Smriti Irani to a key central organisational role. She has been appointed as a national general secretary, replacing Radha Mohan Das Agrawal. Former Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has also returned to the BJP's national organisational structure. He will serve as a national general secretary along with Sanjay Bhatia.
The BJP has made several other changes among its national general secretaries. Harish Dwivedi replaces Arun Singh, while Satish Poonia replaces Tarun Chug. Gajendra Patel has been appointed in place of Dushyant Gautam. These changes are part of the wider restructuring of the party's central organisation.
The party has also changed the leadership of several Morchas. In the Mahila Morcha, Roop Kumari replaces Vanathi Srinivasan as chief. Amarpal Maurya has been appointed as the new OBC Morcha chief, replacing K Laxman.
The Kisan Morcha will now be headed by Bansilal Gurjar, who replaces Rajkumar Chahar. In the Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha, Shivesh Kumar Ram takes over from Lal Singh Arya. The Scheduled Tribe (ST) Morcha will now be led by Mangalam Rawat, replacing Sameer Oraon.
The BJP has also appointed Kunwar Basit Ali as the new Minority Morcha chief. He replaces Jamal Siddiqui. These appointments give the party new leadership across its social and community-based organisational wings.
There has also been a change in the post of party treasurer. Piyush Goyal replaces Rajesh Agrawal in the role. The appointment is among the key changes announced as part of the new national structure.
The reshuffle comes at a significant time for the BJP as it prepares for multiple elections and seeks to expand its organisational presence. The changes affect several important areas, including digital outreach, youth mobilisation, social groups, farmers and the party's central leadership.
With the new appointments, the BJP has combined the return of experienced leaders with the promotion of newer faces. The changes are aimed at giving the party's national organisation a fresh structure while strengthening its reach across different sections of the electorate.
