Naela Quadri, the Prime Minister of the Balochistan government-in-exile, has made a plea to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support Balochistan's pursuit of freedom from what she calls Pakistan's "illegal" occupation. Quadri urged Modi and the BJP government to take a stand in favour of Balochistan during the United Nations session, recognizing the significance of this moment.
According to PTI news agency, Quadri, who is currently on a global tour to gather support for Balochistan's freedom, emphasized the importance of India's backing. She is actively reaching out to various countries to seek international support for Balochistan's liberation from Pakistan's control.
Quadri's request for India's support came after she performed a religious ritual, a puja, at the VIP ghat of the Ganga in Uttarakhand, seeking blessings for her cause. She drew attention to the fact that Balochistan, once an independent country, is now under what she alleges is Pakistan's illegal occupation.
The Prime Minister of the Balochistan government-in-exile expressed deep concern about the exploitation of Balochistan's abundant mineral resources and the numerous atrocities being inflicted upon its people. She specifically highlighted the dire situation faced by Baloch girls, subject to alleged instances of rape, and the widespread destruction of homes and orchards. Furthermore, she accused Pakistan of collaborating with China to further suppress the Baloch people.
Quadri emphasized that this is a crucial moment for India to lend its support to Balochistan at the United Nations, as such an opportunity may not present itself in the future. Her efforts aim to garner international recognition for Balochistan's plight and its quest for self-determination.
"Pakistan is not doing it alone. It has also roped in China to perpetrate atrocities on the Baloch people," Quadri said.
"Balochistan, which was once an independent country, is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan, which is looting its mineral resources and subjecting its people to all sorts of atrocities. Baloch girls are being raped, houses and orchards are being set on fire," she said.
Naela Quadri, the Prime Minister of the Balochistan government-in-exile, stated that if India extends support to Balochistan's cause during the United Nations session, her government-in-exile would reciprocate by supporting India in the future when Balochistan achieves independence. Quadri emphasized the common experiences of both India and Balochistan, underscoring how both regions have endured oppression under the guise of religion.
