In a recent attack by Baloch rebels on the Pakistani Army, 7 Pakistani personnel were killed and 11 others were injured.
The rebels targeted a convoy of 29 trucks, which was being guarded by the Army, on the Quetta-Karachi national highway on Tuesday. The convoy was transporting copper to Karachi from the Saindak Project, as per the reports.
The convoy belonged to a Chinese corporation that was transporting supplies out of Balochistan, according to a statement released by the Baloch Liberation Army. The convoy was attacked by rebels using heavy machine guns and grenade launchers after an Army vehicle that was part of the convoy was first destroyed by a remote-controlled IED device.
The BLA has threatened to retaliate equally against any foreign business attempting to take advantage of Balochistan's wealth. Additionally, it stated that mining projects such as Saindak and Reko Diq are stealing resources that belong to the Baloch people. The attack destroyed seven automobiles.
