It has become easier for Indian passport holders to travel to Argentina, as the country has announced that Indian citizens with valid US tourist visas can now enter without applying for a separate Argentine visa.
The announcement was confirmed by Ambassador Mariano Caucino on Wednesday, who described it as "wonderful news for both Argentina and India." He also mentioned that Argentina looks forward to welcoming more Indian tourists to explore its culture, history, and natural beauty.
"The Argentine Government has relaxed access to the country for Indian citizens holding US visas. The resolution gazetted grants access to India citizens holding tourist visas into the United States without having to process an Argentine visa," Caucino wrote in a post on X.
This development comes at a time when India and Argentina are strengthening ties in different fields, and for travellers it creates an opportunity to plan a visit to South America’s second-largest country.
According to the new rule, Indian nationals with a valid US tourist visa can now travel to Argentina without applying separately for an Argentine visa. This saves both time and money for visitors.
Key points to remember include that the US visa must be valid at the time of travel, passports should have at least six months’ validity, and return tickets along with proof of accommodation may be requested at immigration. The standard stay permitted is up to 90 days for tourism.
This policy change makes Argentina much more accessible for Indian travellers who wish to plan a South American holiday.
