The fascinating development at the ongoing construction site for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, India, archaeologists have made an incredible discovery – the remains of an ancient temple. This exciting find includes numerous statues and pillars and was unearthed at the sacred Shri Ram Janmabhoomi site.
Champat Rai, the General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, personally shared the news of this remarkable discovery. He explained that as they dug into the grounds of Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, they found the remnants of an old temple, with many pillars and idols among the findings.
Taking it to twitter the General Secretary Rai tweeted on X, "Remains of ancient temple discovered during excavation at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. These include several idols and pillars."
Rai, who also holds the role of international vice president at Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), shared a photo that depicted portions of idols intricately carved from sizable stones along with pillars.
Earlier, the official Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra account shared images showcasing the construction progress of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The photos showed the first floor of the temple with scaffolding and busy construction workers.
Recently, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an inspection of the ongoing Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya. During his visit, CM Yogi Adityanath also paid his respects to Lord Ram Lalla at the Ram Janamabhoomi site in Ayodhya.
Work on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is progressing quickly. It all began on August 5, 2020, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the Bhoomi puja ceremony, signaling the start of temple construction.
Amid this, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya criticized Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray's remarks about the Ayodhya Ram temple and called for an apology. He also assured that there would be no harm to anyone when Lord Ram's idol is installed in the Ayodhya Temple after 500 years.
"No one will get even a scratch in Uttar Pradesh when the Ram Lalla would be placed at his birthplace after 500 years. Law and order in Uttar Pradesh is in its place. Police are always active. He should apologise for his statement. People with such a mentality are aware that now that era has ended in Uttar Pradesh," he told reporters.
Thackeray cautioned about the potential for a "Godhra-like" incident during the return of 'Karsevaks' after the Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya. He referred to the 2002 incident when a train carrying 'Karsevaks' was attacked in Godhra, Gujarat, resulting in casualties and riots. The Ram Temple inauguration is slated for January 2024, close to the Lok Sabha elections.
