Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared India's ambition to approach the Sun, paralleling the nation's previous lunar endeavors. This proclamation was made during the launch of the "Mitti Anthem" at the Meri Maati Mera Desh event held in Delhi. Accompanied by Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Anurag Thakur, and Meenakshi Lekhi, Amit Shah initiated the 'Amrit Kalash Yatra' as a part of the ongoing 'Meri Mati-Mera Desh' campaign.
Notably, a nationwide campaign was inaugurated on August 9 to pay tribute to the courageous individuals who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The 'Amrit Kalash Yatra' signifies the nation's dedication to 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' (One India, Great India) by collecting soil from all corners of the country, encapsulating it in 750 urns. This collected soil will serve the purpose of establishing an 'Amrit Vatika' (Garden of Nectar) near Delhi's National War Memorial.
During his address at the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' event, Amit Shah underscored the campaign's significance, asserting, "When we utter 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai,' we are referring to this very 'mitti,' this sacred land." He went on to highlight the sacrifices made by thousands of freedom fighters and citizens over 90 years, from 1857 to 1947, during the arduous struggle for independence, emphasizing their profound connection to this land.
"We extend our prayers to those brave hearts and begin our journey from 'Sankalp' (resolution) to 'Siddhi' (fulfilment)," he continued. This thought could only occur in the mind of someone like Narendra Modi, who is deeply ingrained in patriotism."
The 'Mitti Anthem' was officially launched during the event, underlining the importance of the soil that symbolises the sacrifices made by countless individuals for the nation's freedom. "Through this event," Amit Shah stated, "each and every person can contribute their part to the construction of a 'Mahaan Bharat' (Great India). From September 1 to September 30, 'mitti' or 'dhaan' (soil) will be collected and poured into a 'Kalash' (urn). This process will begin at the district or block level and gradually progress to the state capitals, ultimately culminating in the national capital, where it will be used to build a 'smarak' (memorial)."
Union Minister Anurag Thakur addressed the audience at the 'Mera Maati Mera Desh' event, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for the program, which aims to honour often overlooked freedom fighters. Thakur stressed the significant sacrifices made by these freedom fighters, describing them as 'balidaan' (sacrifice) for the country, and urged every citizen to contribute their part, termed as 'yogdaan' (contribution), to shape a more developed India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally announced this campaign during his recent 'Mann Ki Baat' radio program on Akashwani. The initiative involves the collection of soil from every household in every village across the nation throughout September. This sacred soil will be deposited into thousands of Amrit Kalash urns, with the campaign reaching its culmination in October. During this period, thousands will converge on Delhi as part of the Amrit Kalash Yatra.
The 'Meri Mati-Mera Desh' campaign serves as a heartfelt tribute to the nation's heroes and signifies a collective endeavor to foster a more prosperous and united India.
