8 members of banned CPI-Maoist arrested during joint combing operation in Telangana

According to reports, a coordinated operation by the police in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Telangana resulted in apprehending eight individuals associated with the banned CPI-Maoist faction.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Madakam Bhudra, Madakam Joga, Madvi Sanna, Madvi Bhima, Madvi Anda, Madivi Bhima, Kalma Dula, and Kalma Hadama. Officials believe that they are part of the banned CPI-Maoist Party Militia Committee.
The arrests took place during a joint combing effort, which involved the participation of Charla Police, Special Party units, and personnel from the 141st and 81st Battalions of CRPF. The operation was conducted within the Tippapuram forest area of Charla Mandal.
Authorities have revealed that the detained individuals were active members of the Kanchala Rasapalli RPC Militia Committee, which operates under the CPI-Maoist Party's Pamed Area Committee. Their association with the group spans a period of two years.
As per Assistant Superintendent of Police, Paritosh Pankaj, the arrested individuals were involved in a serious incident, where they allegedly placed a 12 kg bomb on the BT road between Gorukonda and Chennapuram villages of Charla Mandal with the intention of targeting policemen.
Fortunately, the bomb was detected and neutralized by the joint efforts of Charla Police, special party personnel of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, and 81Bn CRPF personnel on the 25th of the previous month.
It has been reported that the banned CPI-Maoist Party has been creating unrest by organizing meetings in the name of Martyrs' Weeks and harassing tribal people living in the border villages of Telangana-Chhattisgarh state. The group has been resorting to threats and imposing fines on those who fail to attend these meetings.
In response to the arrests, a case has been registered against the individuals at Charla Police Station under various sections of the Explosive Substances Act, the UPA Act, and certain sections of the IPC. The accused have been presented before Bhadrachalam Court for judicial remand, according to the police official's statement.
