AXISCADES Technologies, a leading Indian defence technology company, signed an agreement with France’s Cilas S.A., a pioneer in laser technology, to jointly develop advanced Counter Unmanned Aerial System solutions for the Indian armed forces.
The collaboration aims to bring Cilas’ high-energy laser weapon system, Helma-P, to India. AXISCADES will design the overall system architecture to suit the operational requirements of the Indian Army.
As part of the partnership, both companies will work together to co-develop and integrate a vehicle-mounted Counter Unmanned Aerial System, combining the power of the Helma-P laser with AXISCADES’ advanced command and control system.
Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of AXISCADES, said, “Cilas’ Helma-P is recognised globally as one of the foremost hard-kill options, having successfully deployed in vital operations for NATO, during the Olympic games in Paris, and the French Navy. We are confident that such a proven, state-of-the-art solution is crucial for strengthening India’s defence capabilities.”
He further said, “In alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance) initiative, we are committed to locally integrating the Cilas Helma-P solution in our indigenous C2 and onto an Indian platform. AXISCADES is also committed to localising the necessary maintenance equipment and take part in the manufacturing of Helma-P, in order to ensure its production and sustainability within India.”
