Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes on the Congress in a powerful speech in the Lok Sabha
Replying to the Motion of Thanks in the Lok Sabha, PM Narendra Modi gave a sharp speech attacking the Congress and especially the Mahagathbathdan. He called them the ‘Maha milavat’ alliance and went to speak how this can be harmful to India. He also called out Mamata Banerjee’s joint opposition rally in Kolkata and said how voters would throw this out.
Congress came for some special criticism as he talked about Congress’s obsession with the party and dynasty. He said that for Congress ‘BC’ which meant Before Congress and ‘AD’ meant after dynasty.

He also hit out at Rahul Gandhi on his allegations about the Rafale deal and said that Congress did not wish to see the armed forces strong. He said that they were being ‘insensitive’ towards the armed forces.
Apart from this he also outlined the work done by the BJP government saying that they have implemented many agrarian schemes which had been stuck earlier. Speaking about foreign policy he said that “India will be friends with both Israel & Palestine. India will be friends with both Saudi Arabia and Iran. Our foreign policy has led to India's voice becoming stronger on the world stage. Also, I am happy that after our efforts other parties are also reaching out to NRIs, its good”

Lastly he also hit out at those not implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This certainly was a reference to Mamata Banerjee who has previously refused to implement this scheme in her state.
All in all, it was a strong speech by an incumbent Prime Minister seeking reelection who attacked the opposition especially for their record on corruption and outlined his vision for the next 5 years. The bugle for 2019 has been sounded, what happens next remains to be seen.
